No Tuna in Subway’s Tuna Sandwiches?
Subway says it's all a bunch of lies
Long ago when I was in college, we all swore by Subway. It was always on, had a variety of sandwiches, and looked healthier compared to other choices. Incidentally, the Tuna sandwich was one of my favorite. For few years, Subway was my go-to at least once a week for dinner. Now, one lawsuit alleges that Subway’s Tuna sandwich is anything but Tuna!
What Subway bills as tuna is a “mixture of various concoctions that do not constitute tuna, yet have been blended together by defendants to imitate the appearance of tuna,” according to the complaint…” — CBS News
Meanwhile- A spokesperson for the company denied the claims laid out in the lawsuit. “There simply is no truth to the allegations in the complaint that was filed in California,” Maggie Truax, director of Global PR, said in an email to CBS MoneyWatch “Subway delivers 100% cooked tuna to its restaurants, which is mixed with mayonnaise and used in freshly made sandwiches, wraps, and salads that are served to and enjoyed by our guests.” — CBS News
Would this lawsuit affect Subway’s business? Subway is the largest food chain in the world with stores available worldwide. Its 2019 revenue was $10B. And, it's not like everyone that eats at Subway does so for its nutrition value. Often it's the lesser…
